On the Marae, us boys doing part of a Haka, though we didn't actually learn any words. The meeting house for Whare (prnc. far-ay), can be seen in the background. No photos allowed inside.

  2. It wasn't really a Haka, it was more Haka stance, which involves slapping ones thighs, heavy breathing, and protruding the tongue. But I'm in a music perf class on Maori, so perhaps this will change...

  3. looks awesome!!!!! the only reason that i have not been driven mad with jealousy is that i'm home for spring break and getting almost as much sunshine as you are...although not nearly the amount of adventure :)

i have GOT to know more about the glow worms...google images makes them seem impressive but i feel like i'm not getting the full effect. 'cause of the smudges on my computer screen. and, you know, NOT being in new zealand!

i am enjoying your pictures very much so post more. miss you!!

in case you hadn't heard, our housing draw #'s for next year are almost equally terrible, so we might get to be neighbors! yeaa good times :)
